Home made apple pie

Home made apple pie with apples from my garden ❤️💚❤️💚. Foods can be very acidic and can also contribute to enamel erosion. Healthy foods as well as junk food can be equally destructive. Ironically, the adage that an apple a day keeps the doctor (or dentist) away isn’t true when it comes to enamel erosion. Tart apples are very acidic and most apples are acidic enough to dissolve tooth enamel. Of course this doesn’t mean that one should not eat apples in order to minimize enamel erosion, but it should factor in on how to eat them. Incising an apple or any acidic food for that matter will greatly increase the contact of tooth enamel with the acid in the food. Incising is using your front teeth to bite into something in order to break off a piece. This can be avoided by cutting the apple into smaller pieces and not using the front teeth at all. Also, the acidity of any food is only a significant problem when that food is consumed.

Oral mucocele

An oral mucocele is a painless fluid-filled cyst on the inner surface of your mouth. Also known as a mucous cyst, these harmless blisters appear most often on the inner part of your lower lip. They can also affect your inner cheeks, tongue, gums and the floor of your mouth. Oral mucoceles, or mucous cysts, usually occur due to minor trauma.

So why is flossing so important?

So why is flossing so important? Well, it all begins with the small food particles can easily get lodged in the gaps between your teeth and below the gum line. When you brush your teeth, you scrub bacteria, plaque and food particles off the chewing surfaces and visible sides of your teeth. But a regular toothbrush can’t reach the tight spaces between your teeth and under your gums. This is why you need to do some kind of interdental (between-teeth) cleaning, too.If you don’t thoroughly clean plaque from your teeth, it hardens over time and forms a substance called tartar. This thick deposit can’t be removed by brushing or flossing teeth; only dentists can dislodge it with specialist tools during a scale and polish (and the process isn’t exactly pleasant).
